Words Matter 2019 Benefit Gala & Literary Auction

Thursday, April 4, 2019 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

At Four Seasons Hotel Seattle

Words Matter is SAL’s most important fundraising event of the year, raising more than $300,000 to inspire people of all generations and backgrounds in our community with the change-making power of words.

This fun-filled evening includes:

  • an elegant multi-course dinner with wine
  • silent and live auctions featuring unexpected literary treasures and adventures
  • a joyful celebration of the 2019 Prowda Literary Award winners: Washington State Poet Laureate Claudia Caustro Luna and literary arts organization Hugo House

…all set against the spectacular backdrop of the glittering Seattle waterfront.

Funds raised at Words Matter will support SAL’s Writers in the Schools and Youth Poet Laureate programs and help bring the best writers and thinkers of our time to Seattle while offering free and highly subsidized tickets to students and other community members who otherwise could not afford to attend our events.

Tickets are $225 each/$2,250 for a table of 10.

Cocktail attire; sparkles encouraged.
