Community

Blog

SAL/on, a blog of Seattle Arts & Lectures, is a place for the different voices of the SAL community—writers, speakers, students, teachers, readers, listeners, and all points in between—to be collected, considered, and exchanged.

Podcast

SAL/on air is a literary podcast featuring the best author talks from over thirty years of Seattle Arts & Lectures’ programming. Hear our past archive of lectures from authors like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Philip Roth, Jane Hirshfield, and Madeleine Albright.

Summer Book Bingo

Every summer, we partner with The Seattle Public Library to create a Summer Book Bingo card for our free reading program. Adults and kids play along from May – September to be entered in a chance to win fabulous prizes.

Community Access Tickets

We know not everyone is able to afford the full ticket price to our events, but that they are no less passionate about SAL. If you’re experiencing economic adversity, please fill out the Community Access Tickets (CAT) application to be entered into a drawing for free tickets.

Prowda Award

The Prowda Literary Champion Award is named for Sherry Prowda, SAL’s founder and first Executive Director. Each year, the award, selected by a group of literary visionaries, celebrates the individuals and organizations that make Seattle an outstanding place for writers and readers.
