We believe that reading, writing, and creative thinking are indispensable to a curious, engaged, democratic society. Our goal is to make these experiences available to as many people as possible, regardless of economic circumstances—which is why we created our Community Access Tickets (CAT) program.
We know that not everyone is able to afford the full ticket price to our events, but that they are no less passionate about our speakers and the messages on our stages. If that sounds like you, please fill out a CAT program application by clicking the “Apply” button below.
If you have any feedback or would like to make suggestions as to how we can improve this program, we’d love to hear from you. Call the SAL Box Office at 206-621-2230 x10, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How It Works
How do I apply for CAT tickets?
To submit a CAT application, simply fill out the required fields in the form here, and select all of the SAL events you would like to be considered for.
Approximately two weeks before each event, we will notify as many ticket requesters as there is space for via their preferred method of communication (email or text). In the interest of making sure all tickets are utilized, we ask participants to let us know if they can come within 48 hours of being notified so all tickets go to good use!
Tickets will be delivered by email.
Please fill out only one CAT application, and there, you can specify if you’re requesting one or two General-level tickets.
I'm interested in low-cost ticket options at SAL.
We offer $10 tickets for almost every event in our 2020/21 Season, unless that level is sold-out. (See our calendar for more specific details.)
We also offer $7 tickets to students of any age, or those who are 25 and under, to all of our events.
For teens, day-of tickets are also available for free through TeenTix, and companion tickets for adults for $5, by emailing the box office at email@example.com.
What are my chances of getting a ticket?
Depending on seating capacity in each hall, we are able to offer at least 10 – 20 CAT tickets per event for in-person events; we are often able to offer more than that. The application selection is randomized by computer, and the order of entry has no effect on your chances of receiving tickets, in order to give people the most time to find out about our events and express their interest.
For events held online, we will be able to offer additional CAT passes, as we will not be dependent on the seating limitations in our physical halls.
Is there a limit to the number of events I can apply to?
No, there’s no limit; all events available for tickets through CAT are listed on the application form, and you can apply to as many as you like!
Can I bring a friend to the event?
Yes! When you fill out the CAT application, you will have the option to select either one or two tickets if you’d like to bring a companion.
What is the CAT program for?
The CAT program is designed to welcome folks into the SAL community, eliminating price as a barrier. We believe in the power of stories to create connection and cultivate community, and we want everyone in our city to be able to partake in the transformative process of hearing from great writers and thinkers.
I don't see my question here, or I would like to provide feedback.
