Zoe Walker
Youth Programs & Development Coordinator (she/her)
I’m happy to support both the amazing Development and Youth Programs team with donor communications and acknowledgement, fundraising events, WITS residency tracking, writer and teacher communications, and more!
Picking just ONE favorite childhood book is impossible but when I was younger, I was on a mission to read every book written by Sharon Creech.
I haven’t yet decorated my desk at SAL but at home, my desk houses a Cristina Martinez print, a ZZ plant, memorabilia from events I’ve produced, and many, many books (of course).
I grew up here in Seattle and when I’m not working, I can be found adventuring around town, a beach or a hiking trail with my rescue pup, Remi.
It’s nearly impossible to name my favorite SAL event—I fall a little bit in love with each and every one. Yaa Gyasi (even though it was virtual in 2020 because HOMEGOING is one of my all-time favorite novels), Hanif Abdurraqib, and recently R.F. Kuang come to mind, but you’ll have to ask me again next week!
🤪 is probably the emoji that best represents me. A little silly, a little sassy. It’s important to be able to laugh at yourself and find humor in any situation.
