A book that Kiran discovered at a critical time in her young adult life, and which she says, “I inevitably think about when I think about college,” was Haruki Murakami’s Norwegian Wood because “it helped me to begin to see and understand the depths of our love, grief, and connection with others.” She is a health care and employee benefits attorney at Perkins Coie. When Kiran isn’t advising clients, she enjoys playing piano, hiking, playing tennis, traveling, and cooking elaborate dinner recipes with her husband. Born and raised in south Texas, she lived there until 2010, when she quit her job and moved to Seattle to attend law school (she holds a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, and a B.A. in political science from the University of Texas at Austin). Kiran calls moving to Seattle her best idea ever: “I did not realize how outdoorsy we were, how much we craved mountains and water and cooler weather, until we moved to the Pacific Northwest. I finally felt at home.”
