SAL Volunteer
We are currently at capacity with our volunteer corps, and we are not accepting volunteer applications at this time. Thank you for your understanding! Behind the scenes at SAL is a corps of dedicated volunteers who contribute their time to ensure we meet our mission of cultivating transformative experiences through story and language with readers and writers of all generations. We have a host of areas to get involved in, from ushering at our events, to assisting with mailings and other administrative tasks, to working on our annual fundraising events.

- All volunteers are invited to attend the season reveal party and appreciation events we host.
We currently have the following positions:
Event Volunteers:
Event volunteers work as ushers, box office assistants, ticket scanners, information table assistants and more. They support the effective running of events by welcoming, serving, and monitoring the audiences that enter our venues. This role puts you on the front lines of the literary world in Seattle!
Office & Administrative Volunteers:
These volunteers help with a variety of projects on a weekly or bi-weekly basis: everything from file management, operations, data entry, bulk mailing, auction donations, and more. Regular office hours are Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm, on a regular schedule.
Project-Based Volunteers:
These volunteers help with a variety of short-term projects related to fundraising, mailings, data entry, and more. Regular office hours are Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm, on a as needed per project.
Fundraising Event Volunteers:
Help SAL make their Words Bloom Gala and the Writers in the Schools Fundraiser successful by working at these inspiring and fun events.
