At Center for Spiritual Living

Presented in partnership with Third Place Books.

Actress, director, and writer Drew Barrymore’s second memoir, Wildflower, is set to release October 27th. The book moves through Barrymore’s experiences as a fourteen-year-old living on her own to present day life.

Conversation moderated by writer/director Lynn Shelton.

The format of the evening will be Drew Barrymore in conversation via an interview format. Drew will sign books after the event (no personalization).

At the age of 25, Drew Barrymore co-authored her first memoir, Little Girl Lost (1991), with Todd Gold. The book recounts a young child’s life of addiction in the thralls of early celebrity. Twenty-three years later, Barrymore published her second book, Find it in Everything: Photographs by Drew Barrymore (2014), a personal collection of images that captures hearts and patterns in the “every day” life. She is also a columnist and editor of the fashion and style website Refinery29.

Unlike Little Girl LostWildflower takes the form of autobiographical essays that contemplate moments that led Barrymore to motherhood. Writing the book “was a lot to take on,” says Barrymore, “but my daughters and my life so far have inspired me to look back and remember moments in my life and write about them.”

Barrymore is not only an accomplished writer, but an artist of many talents. She is a critically acclaimed actress, recently winning the 2014 Cinema Con Award for Female Star of the Year. She has starred in numerous films [E.T.: The Extraterrestrial (1982), Ever After (1998), Never Been Kissed (1999)], and won a 2010 Golden Globe Award for her role as Little Edie in the made for television movie Grey Gardens. As the founder of the production company Flower Films, Barrymore has produced numerous films, such as Charlie’s Angels (2000), Donnie Darko (2001), 50 First Dates (2004), and Whip It (2009). She is also the creator of the beauty product and accessory line, Flower, whose products have won various awards, including the 2015 CEW Beauty Award from CEW Insiders’ Choice and the 2014 Allure Best of Beauty Award from Allure Magazine.

Barrymore currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband Will Kopelman and two daughters, Olive and Frankie.
