Bill Gates: Interviewed by Anderson Cooper—Online

Past Event: Thursday, February 18, 2021

At lectures.org

In the urgent, authoritative book How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need, Bill Gates sets out a wide-ranging, practical–and accessible–plan for how the world can get to zero greenhouse gas emissions in time to avoid a climate catastrophe. This event will be pre-recorded, and Gates will be interviewed by Anderson Cooper.

Although this event has passed, you can still purchase a digital pass through February 25 at 7:30 p.m.

This event will be pre-recorded and online only.

All ticket holders (except Student/25&Under and complimentary tickets) will get a copy of Gates’ new book, shipped straight to their homes by one of our partner bookstores for this evening.

Bill Gates has spent a decade investigating the causes and effects of climate change. With the help of experts in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, political science, and finance, he has focused on what must be done in order to stop the planet’s slide to certain environmental disaster. In this book, he not only explains why we need to work toward net-zero emissions of greenhouse gases, but also details what we need to do to achieve this profoundly important goal.

Anderson Cooper, our moderator for the evening, is the anchor of CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360°, a global newscast that goes beyond the headlines with in-depth reporting and investigations. The show airs weeknights at 8:00 p.m. ET on CNN and is simulcast to an international audience on CNN International. Cooper also hosts Anderson Cooper Full Circle, a streaming show which airs on CNN’s digital properties weekdays at 5:00 p.m. ET and is also available on demand. Learn more.
