A Blog of Seattle Arts & Lectures

The Launch of Summer Book Bingo 2024!

Summer is in the air! This week, we launched our 10th year of Summer Book Bingo, a free, community program brought to you by Seattle Arts & Lectures and The Seattle Public Library.

To celebrate this landmark year, in addition to the adult, kids, and Lotería boards, we added a new board: the fun and fabulous Teen Summer Book Bingo Board! We are also planning a fun event in the summer so be sure to read this blog, follow us on our social media platforms, and sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know.

Keep the conversation going by connecting with other readers on social media at #BookBingoNW2024.

We were delighted to work with two amazing artists on our 2024 board design – the adult and teen Book Bingo charts were designed by Sabella Flagg (she/her), and the Lotería board was designed by Eliana Vasquez. Check out all of the boards on our Book Bingo page.

How to Play:

Download your bingo card, and get detailed instructions  at https://lectures.org/community/book-bingo/ or pick up a board at your local Seattle Public Library branch or indie bookstore. Complete 5 boxes in a row (across, vertical, or diagonal) for a “bingo” or complete all 25 boxes for “blackout” on the teen and adult Book Bingo boards or all 16 boxes for “blackout” on the Lotería board.

Reading Suggestions:

All summer, we will be gathering and sharing Book Bingo recommendations from our SAL community of staff, Board Members, volunteers, and writers to share here on the blog and on social media.

For “SAL speaker” and many other categories, see our past and present line-up of SAL speakersSAL’s new season launches on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
