Five Questions: Indira Dahlstrom, WITS Program Coordinator

A warm welcome to Indira Dahlstrom, our new WITS Program Coordinator! To introduce her to the SAL community, we asked Indira five questions—get to know her below!

Welcome to the team! Can you tell us a little about your role at SAL?

I am the WITS Program Coordinator at SAL, which means I get to work with the WITS team to empower youth in our programs to use their voices and share them with the broader community through publications and events.

What’s been your favorite SAL event?

My favorite SAL event so far was with Robin Wall Kimmerer. I participated on Zoom along with a few of my friends, and it inspired us to go on nature walks and learn the names of plants and animals in our neighborhood.

What was your favorite book as a kid?

My favorite book as a kid was Ten Little Ladybugs. I loved hearing it read aloud and feeling the raised ladybugs on the page.

What’s your ideal Sunday?

My ideal Sunday holds a morning walk to a bakery for a seasonal treat!

When you’re not working, you can be found…

trying something new to me, from restaurants to roller skating.
