Faces of SAL: Sheehan Sullivan

We have more new faces on the SAL Board of Directors to introduce you to! Most of our board members began their SAL journey the same way you did: as readers and event-goers. Learn about the moments that inspired them to become involved more deeply with SAL, what they do, where they come from, and what excites them.

This week, meet Sheehan Sullivan!

Sheehan is a partner at the law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP and an experienced employment litigator. Though she comes from a long-time Washington family, Sheehan grew up in the western landscapes of Oregon and Colorado.

When you’re not doing SAL Board things, you can be found…

…hanging out with my husband, two kids, and rescue pit bull in Wallingford and at our place on the Hood Canal. I am a partner at the law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, and I am an employment lawyer.

What was your favorite book as a kid?

As a teenager, I was obsessed with anything written by John Fowles. I read The French Lieutenant’s Woman at least four times.

Where are you from?

I am from a longtime Washington family, but I didn’t move here until I graduated from college. I grew up living in central Oregon (Bend area) and Aspen, Colorado.

What’s your ideal Sunday?

Hanging out on the Hood Canal with a good book in the sunshine, and ingredients in the kitchen for cooking some great comfort food meals with my kiddos.

What’s on your desk?

Advil, a 3D construction paper fish by my nine-year-old, a complex matrix of my handwritten “to do” lists, and three computer monitors, one of which sits on top of a stack of random books (a Dashiell Hammett collection, Michelle Obama’s Becoming, and a biography of Jackie Kennedy).

What emoji best represents you?

The happy face with a subtle smile and sunglasses. 😎
