Barot is the award-winning author of three previous collections—Chord, Want, and The Darker Fall—and his latest book, The Galleons, is about the immigrant journey of his Filipino-American family in the larger history and aftermath of colonialism. Jane Wong, our Q&A moderator and an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Western Washington University, is the author of Overpour and How to Not Be Afraid of Everything, forthcoming from Alice James Books.
