Photo Gallery: Camp WITS 2017

From July 24 to August 4th, Camp WITS (that’s Writers in the Summer) students, grades 4-12, were engaged in the serious work of playing around with language in SAL’s second-ever series of creative writing workshops. Campers at The Center School downtown created poetry, comics, flash fiction, short stories, memoir, and more as literary adventurers, making pit stops at art, park, and urban offerings along the way.

The two classes featured in these photos include Unexpected Connections (Grades 6-8) with WITS writers Greg Stump and Emily Bedard, which focused on the intersection between poetry and comics, and the Summer Writer’s Society (Grades 9-12), with WITS writers Daemond Arrindell and Michael Overa, a mixed-genre class combing fiction and poetry of all lengths.
