2016-17 Words Matter Benefit Gala and Auction 2016-17 Words Matter Benefit Gala and Auction THU, MAR 23, 2017, 6:00 PM Four Seasons Hotel Seattle
Words Matter is SAL’s most important fundraising event of the year, raising more than $250,000 to engage people of all backgrounds and incomes, from kindergarten through adulthood, in the power of words to change lives.

The evening will include an elegant multi-course dinner with wine, a silent auction reception featuring books inscribed by luminaries, and a live auction filled with unexpected literary adventures, all against the spectacular backdrop of the glittering Seattle waterfront.

Funds raised at Words Matter will support SAL’s Writers in the School Program and help bring the best writers and thinkers of our time to Seattle while maintaining affordable tickets and extending access to low-income and underserved populations.

Cocktail attire; sparkles encouraged.

Tickets are $175 each/$1,750 for a table of 10. Buy your tickets by clicking on the “Box Office” button in the upper right-hand corner of this page.
