On April 21st, Nigerian-American writer, photographer, and art historian Teju Cole spoke as part of SAL’s Literary Arts Series to a sold out Town Hall Seattle. Executive Director Ruth Dickey introduced the program and moderated their conversation. A performance by Matt Price, of the Bushwick Book Club, opened the night. He was followed by Jemma Jacks, winner of the 2016 Elaine Wetterauer Writing Contest, who read her moving poem “Bathing in India,” a piece she created while in the WITS program.
