Photo Gallery: The Lost Poems of Pablo Neruda

On April 19, SAL celebrated National Poetry Month in conjunction with Copper Canyon Press for their release of newly discovered Neruda poems, Then Come Back: The Lost Neruda, translated by poet and novelist Forrest Gander. Forrest and Seattle writer Kisha Xiomara Palmer performed a bilingual reading. This was followed by a conversation between Forrest, Seattle University professor Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs, and Copper Canyon Press Executive Editor Michael Wiegers.

SAL Associate Director Rebecca Hoogs introduced the program and moderated their conversation. The night was opened by Frida Santos, a student from Broadview Thomson K-8 who read her beautiful poem, “In My Own Underwater World,” a piece she created while participating in the WITS program.
