On March 23, National Book Award finalist Emily St. John Mandel spoke as part of SAL’s Literary Arts Series to a sold-out Townhall Seattle. SAL Executive Director Ruth Dickey introduced the program and moderated their conversation. A performance by Wes Weddell, of the Bushwick Book Club, opened the night’s program. He was followed by Gray Liteky, a student from Cascade K-8 Community School who read his moving poem, “Burning,” a piece he created while participating in the WITS program.
