Photo Gallery: Srikanth Reddy at McCaw Hall

On December 1, poet Srikanth Reddy Srikanth presented his lecture, “Like a Very Strange Likeness and Pink,” as part of SAL’s Poetry Series, at McCaw Hall. His talk examined the question of likeness in Emily Dickinson’s similes and Gertrude Stein’s portraits as a way of thinking about social identity and difference in modern American poetry.

SAL Associate Director Rebecca Hoogs introduced the program and moderated their conversation. Anisa Rae Robinson, a student from Washington Middle School who participated in WITS with Writer-in-Residence Rachel Kessler, opened the evening with her powerful poem, “Black”.
