A Blog of Seattle Arts & Lectures

Photo Gallery: Ta-Nehisi Coates at McCaw Hall

On Thursday, October 29, SAL was thrilled to present the poignant memoirist, journalist, blogger and educator¬†Ta-Nehisi Coates, who spoke to thousands, in a sold-out program at McCaw Hall. Vivian Phillips, of STG and the Seattle Arts Commission,¬†moderated the conversation. Joseph Hairston, a student at Garfield High School who participated in WITS with Writer-in-Residence Aaron Counts, opened the evening’s program with his moving poem, “I Used To”.
